Shreveport’s Eldorado Resort Casino gets new owners

Non-Nevada casino minimums (COVID edition) part 5

If you are reporting about a casino, could you please try to include the following:
The more information we have, the better off we will be.
We all know that tables can change rapidly. I saw a table go from 25 to 15 to 100 at the Flamingo in the course of a few hours. I'll try to keep the mins what is reported the most and add other information in the comments like "found this table at $5 on graveyard shift" so people konw that isn't the norm
These tables can be a pain to maintain, so please provide as much information as possible. An informed roller is a beter roller.

Report your table minimums here (COVID Edition) part 3

Part 3 in the COVID series.
To try and make this list more helpful, I have added Weekend Day and Weekend Night, as those can be vastly different than during the week.
I'm trying to monitor Twitter and the Vegas Message Board to get some additional information.
Keep sharing all that wonderful goodness.
I'd like to update the wiki to talk about what sidebets casinos have, so if you know that info, I can add it to the table comments.

Why the NCR is the Future of Human Civilization.

The Mojave Wasteland was left almost completely unscathed by the nuclear holocaust that was the Great War. The city that was once Las Vegas alone was targeted with well over 77 nuclear warheads. Thanks to the efforts of billionaire genius Robert Edwin House, all but 9 of the nuclear warheads were successfully destroyed and rendered harmless to what would become New Vegas.
Having suffered only minor damage from the Great War, what is now the Mojave Wasteland was, and still is, extremely fertile ground for the beginning of the return of human civilization. Filled to the brim with countless treasures, essentially unlimited natural resources and mammoth economic/financial value, the Mojave Wasteland can be the staging ground for the great rejuvenation of humanity. A great rejuvenation with the Republic at the helm.
Look at Hoover Dam, for instance. When the NCR first found it, it was a dilapidated mess that had sat there derelict for centuries. Years later, they managed to single-handedly restore it to operational condition (they had as many as 6-out-of-8 if its energy turbines operational before 2 of those were jammed not long afterwards) and transformed it into a magnificently invaluable power station that churns out gargantuan levels of energy for the Republic.
Enough energy to fuel every last major city, town, settlement and community in the whole of the NCR. And that's only at 50% capacity! Just imagine what it could do once fully-restored. The NCR also shares Hoover Dam's titanic energy output with not only the Strip, but with the rest of New Vegas (albeit at almost non-existent levels), as well. Hoover Dam alone could very well be the key to the full restoration of human civilization in not only the Mojave Wasteland, but across the entirety of the post-apocalyptic world.
Then, of course, we also have the virtually limitless supply of fresh, radiation-free water that lies within Lake Mead. Aside from serving as a drink, this water could also be used to massively upgrade and improve the already-colossal agricultural production of the Republic and, eventually, be of immense assistance to the whole of the Mojave Wasteland's own young, underdeveloped agriculture (more on that soon). In the right hands, Lake Mead could be a major component in the rebirth of civilization.
Speaking of water, it was also the NCR that repaired the regional network of water cisterns and pumping stations, as well. Granting much easier, much more available, access to fresh water for not only NCR soldiers and citizens, but also denizens of New Vegas (albeit for a fee) as well.
While very small in significance, for the time being, and not of any meaningful help to New Vegas citizens, as of now, that will all change in due time once the Mojave Wasteland is finally annexed by the Republic (more on that, soon).
There's also the matter of infrastructure. As is the case back West, the NCR has tirelessly toiled away to repair and restore all manner of infrastructure across the Mojave Wasteland.
Aside from the most obvious example, Hoover Dam, the NCR has also restored power plants (i.e. HELIOS One, which, unfortunately, is only running at 1% capacity, and the El Dorado Substation), mines (i.e. Quarry Junction, prior to it getting overrun with Deathclaws), factories (i.e. the Gun Runners' New Vegas weapons factory) and even roads and railroads (for instance, the reason why the Powder Gangers are in the Mojave Wasteland is because they were meant to be the penal labor force responsible for said infrastructural overhaul).
True, the NCR's massive overhaul of the Mojave Wasteland's heavily degraded infrastructure primarily benefits their military, as of now, but that will no longer be the case once the NCR formally annexes the region. Once that happens, not only the Mojave Wasteland, but the entirety of the post-apocalyptic world, will benefit gloriously.
Now we examine the highly invaluable field of agriculture. Taking full advantage of its centuries worth of infinite knowledge and boundless experience with its own painstakingly extensive, but ultimately unimaginably successful, agricultural restoration efforts back home, the Republic has taken it upon itself to replicate that success in the Mojave Wasteland with the NCR Sharecropper Farms project (not to mention Thomas Hildern's plan to acquire the agricultural research of Vault 22).
An experiment that's dedicated to bringing the Mojave Wasteland's enormously gargantuan agricultural potential to life, its success could have ludicrously gigantic benefits and rewards for not only the region and the NCR, but also the whole of the Wastelands, as well. And given that the NCR Sharecropper Farms are already producing more than enough food to supply all of the tens of thousands of NCR soldiers across the region as it is, I do believe that I'm more than safe in saying that said potential is most certainly well on its way to being achieved.
Now sure, the project was originally designed to provide landless farmers and ranchers back West with jobs and sure, the project has run into some major problems (i.e. Westside stealing NCR water and radiation leakage from Vault 34's reactor that's contaminating the soil) but, at the end of the day, the potential rewards of the project's success can't be ignored.
Last but not least, we have the New Vegas Strip. Having spent well over 7 years getting ludicrously wealthy and fat off of impossibly massive sums of NCR cash due to its thriving gambling/tourism industry, a Republic annexation of the prosperous resort community would go a long way towards making humanity great again.
Not only would it more than enable the NCR to very easily reimburse all of its financial costs and losses from years of protecting the Mojave by taxing the Strip and its casinos, but it would also spark a colossally titanic flood of tax caps that'll virtually swell the Republic's already-near-boundless wealth.
Money that could go a very long way towards additional improvements to the Republic's already-unrivaled infrastructure, already-unmatched healthcare, already-titanic industry, already-unequalled agricultural production and already-gargantuan military might in addition to the Mojave Wasteland's own well-being. With the immense wealth of the New Vegas Strip, the NCR could help make both the Mojave Wasteland and, eventually, the rest of the Wastes a vastly better place.
[Note: the following assumes that the Courier both helped the NCR and took the absolute best route possible].
Here's my vision of a newly-annexed Mojave Wasteland that's now under the full control of the Republic.
I see a Mojave Wasteland that's filled to the brim with fields that are chock full of maize, beans, tobacco and cotton as well as immensely bountiful scores of trees with branches hanging low to the ground, fat with ripe, juicy oranges and apples, amongst innumerable other produce. Farms and ranches as far as the eye can see that are teeming with Brahmin and Bighorners.
I also envision a Mojave Wasteland that has become the new industrial heartland of the Republic. A massively gargantuan industrial/manufacturing powerhouse that's splitting at the seams with factories, weapons foundries, workshops, mines and construction sites in addition to a finely-crafted, highly-extensive network of roads and railroads at a level that's unseen even back West.
I see a New Vegas that has been entirely restored to its former Old World glory, a gloriously titanic city of limitless wealth, unmatched splendor and unrivaled beauty. A city that is bulging with casinos, resorts, skyscrapers, apartment complexes and even seas upon seas of suburbs amongst a vast plethora of other features.
All of which is powered, supported and sustained by the colossally mammoth energy output of a now-fully-operational Hoover Dam, with additional support from a now-fully-functional HELIOS One, as well as hugely endless supplies of fresh water from Lake Mead, Lake Las Vegas and the numerous aquifers that are scattered all across the Mojave Wasteland. Water that is distributed by the regional network of pristine water cisterns and pumping stations.
This new-and-improved Mojave Wasteland will go on to transform the NCR from what's already the dominant superpower of the post-apocalyptic world with essentially infinite wealth, the most powerful military in all of the Wastes, the absolute finest infrastructure, the most bountiful agricultural production, the most advanced technology, the most gargantuan industry and the greatest healthcare into a god-like entity with limitless power.
An entity that could go on to begin the great rejuvenation of human civilization and bring an end to the post-apocalyptic era once and for all. A great rejuvenation with the NCR at its head, and New Vegas at its heart.
That is why the NCR must not fail in annexing the Mojave Wasteland. The future of humanity depends on it.

Reno

Checked it out on the first weekend since reopening, got a few observations:
All casinos practice a limit of 6 total players at a table (3 on each side), masks are encouraged for guests, but not required for entry or to be worn. Two sets of dice are used and they will spray the set not in use between rolls. Pretty much every other slot machine has been turned off, makes it difficult to get a comped drink at the bars.
Saturday:
The Row (El Dorado/Silver Legacy/Circus Circus) - Heard about 10% of the workforce has returned. Only 4 bars open between all of the properties. One table open at each at El Dorado and Silver Legacy, was $10 minimum for craps. They're supposed to check your temperature upon entry at single entrances, the valet of El Dorado and the self parking garage at Silver Legacy.
Cal Neva - $5 minimum on craps, not too different from a normal Saturday. No temperature check upon entry but they do have signs discouraging loitering and "passing through the casino".
Peppermill - Most active in setting up plexiglass barriers between the machines and at the tables. 3 craps tables open all $10 minimums. Infrared camera temperature check when you get in.
Sunday:
Atlantis - 2 craps tables open, 1 was $5 minimum, the other table was $10 minimum. Someone will check your temperature when you walk in.
Grand Sierra Resort - 2 craps table open, both were $10 minimum. Heard that it was $15 and $25 minimum on Saturday night. They have to spray the rack and rail whenever someone moves from the spot. No temperature check at entry.
All in all nice to see the game back in action, reasonable limits with most of the casinos re-opened again, and caught a few good rolls of my own to go up $400.

In 1982, two women disappear together in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Five and six months later, their bodies are discovered—but it seems they died only weeks ago. What happened to Julie Schossow and Marilyn Putt?

I searched Reddit and was surprised not to see a writeup of this case, particularly when it has been mentioned with serial killers including Leonard Lake and Zodiac (although, IMO, both seem unlikely suspects). Much of the accessible coverage (e.g., from the El Dorado DA) lacks details about the circumstances of their disappearance. I apologize in advance that this isn’t the smoothest writeup, but I’m trying to weave together details from a couple of different sources into a cohesive and accurate account.
The Disappearance
Julie Schossow, 25, and Marilyn Putt, 27, were close friends. They had both worked as blackjack dealers at the Harrah's Casino in South Lake Tahoe, on the border of Nevada and California, since May 1980. Marilyn had a 5-year-old son, Jason, and they had lived in a rented house at 725 Los Angeles Avenue since October 1981. The Putts shared the house with a roommate, Colleen Gore, who often helped take care of Jason. Schossow was in between apartments and temporarily living in the home as well. Neighbors recalled there were often many cars at the house, although there weren’t wild or noisy parties there. Jason was often seen playing in the snow with other neighborhood children.
On January 12, 1982, Schossow and Putt had both worked at Harrah’s and then returned home after their shift. What is known about the intervening hours seems to come largely from their roommate, Colleen Gore. Schossow and Putt told Gore they were going “to party,” and at approximately 1 AM, a car horn sounded outside of the house and the women left.
Both victims were seen drinking together at the Rendezvous Bar inside Harrah’s and leaving a bar with some men that evening, however I do not know if this happened before they returned home or after they went out again to party. Colleen told police that sometime during the night, Schossow came back to pick up her car. Putt called 11 hours later (unclear if this is at noon on January 13, or 11 hours after Schossow returned for the car) and said they had “met a couple of rich guys” and were headed to Sacramento or San Francisco. Putt asked Gore to babysit her son.
Gore did not report the women missing for four days. This would have been approximately January 17.
On February 2, police found Schossow’s brown Honda in the Harrah’s parking lot, covered in snow and with flat tires. Police said this indicated the car had been there since the day the women went missing, January 13. (What is mystifying is why the police knew the women were missing since January 17, knew Schossow’s car was missing, and knew both women worked at Harrah’s—yet apparently didn’t check that parking lot until February 2.)
Note this interesting passage in an article from February 18, 1982, in the Reno Gazette-Journal: “The neighbors and some of the women’s co-workers from Harrah’s are reluctant to talk about Putt and Schossow. One Los Angeles Avenue woman said she was worried about retribution from the ‘two men the girls were with that night,’ and the Harrah’s workers have been ordered by casino officials not to talk about the missing dealers.”
Discovery of the Bodies
On June 6, 1982, almost six months later, the body of Marilyn Putt was discovered in the South Fork of the American River, one mile west of an area known as Chili Bar off of Highway 193. Her body was nude and had been weighted down with chains and binding material and the cause of death appears to be ligature strangulation, with the time of death being estimated at 6-8 weeks prior to her body being found.
One month later, on July 9, 1982, the body of Julie Schossow was discovered also in the South Fork of the American River, approximately 150 yards from where Marilyn Putt's body had been discovered. She had a cord tightly wrapped around her neck two times and the coroner could not rule out the fact that she may have been bound together with Marilyn Putt. The cause of death appears to be ligature strangulation, with the time of death being estimated at 6-8 weeks prior to her body being found.
Given the discrepancy between the time the women went missing and the estimated time of death, it is believed that the women were held captive for approximately three months, believed to be somewhere in between South Lake Tahoe and Placerville.
Other events or potential leads
*Notably, another woman, Debney Lynn Lobanoff, 28, went missing not long before these women in December 1981. Her nude body was found floating in the Slab Creek Reservoir on July 3, 1982, in between the discoveries of Putt’s and Schossow’s bodies and approximately 7.5 miles upstream. According to her husband, Debney left with two “biker-type” men. This case also remains unsolved.
*In 2016, the El Dorado District Attorney’s Office launched a campaign to revive this cold case and made a specific request: “If there’s anyone out there that’s directly involved with or associated with the Church of Scientology in South Lake Tahoe, you may or may not know you have information that could be helpful, so please contact us.” The DA’s website further notes, “Although not a member herself, Marilyn Putt was closely associated with several leading members of the Church of Scientology.”
*In February this year, the El Dorado DA’s office announced they had used genetic genealogy databases to identify Joseph Holt, a local real estate worker, as the man who kidnapped and killed a woman, Brynn Rainey, in 1977 and a teenaged girl, Carol Andersen, in 1979. Rainey was last seen at a bar just before her 2 AM shift at a South Lake Tahoe Casino; her body was found in a shallow grave and her cause of death was believed to be strangulation or suffocation. Andersen disappeared on her way home from a party near a South Lake Tahoe ski resort. Her body was found dumped by the side of the road a few miles away; she had been bound and strangled. Unfortunately, justice evaded Holt as he died in 2014.
Questions
--How is it that the women weren’t reported missing for so many days? January 13, 1982, was a Wednesday—it seems, especially during ski season, that it’s unlikely that both of them would have had multiple consecutive days off of work and over a weekend, but it appears that no one (Harrah’s or the roommate) reported the women missing until Saturday or Sunday.
--The quotation from the anonymous neighbor is also odd—why would they be worried about retribution? Were these two men known to locals, but perhaps not to the women? Although they had both been there for some time, they were both transplants.
--Were they held captive for months, or is there another explanation for the discrepancy in between their date of disappearance and apparent times of death?
--Why is the DA currently inquiring about the Church of Scientology?
--Holt’s MO doesn’t sound dissimilar from the circumstances of Putt and Schossow’s case except that evidence is pointing towards two men. Could Holt have had or later taken on a partner? It’s interesting to note that he worked in real estate given it appears the women were held captive.
What do you think happened to Julie and Marilyn?

Genetic genealogy solves two 1970s South Lake Tahoe, CA murders

Parabon Nanolabs identified the killer of 27 year old Brynn Rainey, murdered in 1977, and 16 year old Carol Andersen, killed in 1979, as Joseph Holt, a real estate worker who died in 2014. Holt lived near both crime scenes. The parents of the victims have said that their daughters didn't know him. Holt was a graduate of UC Berkeley and was 27 when he moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1974. In 2017, El Dorado County, CA investigators on these two cases determined that the DNA in both cases matched and they were looking for one perpetrator.
Brynn Rainey was last seen on July 24, 1977, at a bar just before her 2am graveyard shift at the casino where she worked. She had moved to South Lake Tahoe recently and would often hitchhike to work. Her nude body was found the next month in a shallow grave in a horseriding area known as the Stateline Stables.
"Finally, after 44 years of hell and back, we have some answers," Rainey's brother Pete Garl said.
On June 30, 1979, Carol Andersen vanished on her way home from a party near a South Lake Tahoe ski resort. Her body was found a few hours later on the side of the road about 4 miles away. She had epilepsy and rarely left the house by herself.

Julie Schossow and Marilyn Putt disappeared in South Lake Tahoe, CA, in January 1982. Their bodies were recovered months later, although they were determined to be dead for only weeks.

Please note the first part of this writeup was originally posted on UnresolvedMysteries earlier this year, but locals have chimed in to clarify some points and answer some questions. More importantly, Marilyn’s sister reached out and provided new information that paints a very different story than existing media coverage, and also enlightens the El Dorado County DA's renewed call for information, which had mystified many people. If you recall the previous post you may wish to skip to the “New information” section.
The Disappearance
Julie Schossow, 25, and Marilyn Putt, 27, were close friends. On Tuesday, January 12, 1982, Schossow and Putt had both worked at Harrah’s and then returned home after their shift. On February 2, police found Schossow’s brown Honda in the Harrah’s parking lot, covered in snow and with flat tires. Police said this indicated the car had been there since the day the women went missing, January 13. This seemed odd at first, but locals have clarified there was a snowstorm around that time. It was not uncommon for cars to be buried for long periods of time, and tires can go flat. There was no sign of the missing women, however.
An article from February 18, 1982, in the Reno Gazette-Journal stated: “The neighbors and some of the women’s co-workers from Harrah’s are reluctant to talk about Putt and Schossow. New information from Marilyn Putt’s sister
Marilyn’s sister responded to the original above and provided valuable information and her recollection of events, many of which contradict roommate Colleen Gore’s narrative.
First, her sister noted that something had gone down in between Gore and Putt. “On Monday, my sister called me and told me she had to move as soon as possible. I asked why would she need to move out of the cute cabin she was so thrilled to rent. She told me that I wouldn’t believe what her room mate and her boyfriend are doing. She wouldn’t give me details over the phone because they might hear, just that it was very bad and she wanted no part of it. She told me that she no longer trusted her room mate to watch her son and just needed me to come help her move on Wednesday. She didn’t even want them to know she was moving.”
The women went out on Tuesday night and were last seen on Tuesday night. Marilyn's sister said that their mother had called Marilyn and talked to her at her home around midnight on Tuesday. It seems important to clarify when eyewitnesses saw Putt and Schossow out--Tuesday night, or in the early hours of Wednesday.
No media reports that I came across suggested that Gore was behaving in a shady manner, although it was odd why it took four days for her to report the women missing—particularly given Gore was taking care of Putt’s son. The fact that Putt would come back to retrieve her car (after allegedly leaving at 1 AM according to Gore’s account) never made much sense—but it seems the only source for this claim is Gore.
Marilyn’s sister drove in from Sacramento on Wednesday to help her sister move: “When I arrived Wednesday morning, I had my boyfriend and another couple with me to help. When I knocked on the door, her room mate answered but only opened the door about an inch. She said my sister had gone to work and she was indisposed.”
Marilyn’s sister went to Harrah’s, found out Marilyn didn’t show up for her shift, and searched for her sister at Harrah’s. Unsuccessful, she called Gore. “We hung out there for a bit and finally I called the room mate back and told her the situation. That’s when the room mate told me that my sister had just called to tell her to watch her son because she had spent the night with some rich guy and now they were going to San Francisco. I was so confused! Why would she go to San Francisco when she wanted to move and she knew I was coming? Why did she leave her son with the person she just told me she didn’t trust especially when she knew I was coming up and she could just hand him off to me. Why would she take off with someone she barely knew? None of it made sense.” Indeed, the inconsistency in the stories makes Gore seem very suspicious. Why the sudden change in stories?
Marilyn’s sister returned to the house, where Gore let her in. Marilyn’s sister found all of Marilyn’s stuff packed up in boxes in the closet in her room, including an overnight bag. If Marilyn had come back to pick up her car before running off to San Francisco, why wouldn’t she have picked up her pre-packed overnight bag? Gore was convincing, however, and Marilyn’s sister went back to Sacramento.
Marilyn’s sister continued checking in with Gore. It wasn’t until she threatened to drive to Tahoe and file the missing person report herself that Gore finally reported it to the police.
One last thing Marilyn’s sister pointed may be a clue as to why the 2016 revival of the case by the DA asks about Scientologists: “As a side note, Marilyn’s room mate used to live with Marilyn’s babysitter until there was a falling out and she moved in with Marilyn. The babysitter, the room mate and the babysitter ‘s ex husband all belonged to the Church of Scientology.”
Marilyn’s sister ended her story on a heartbreaking note: “There are many more unexplained details to this case but I’m sure none of it will make a difference now. I have come to the agonizing conclusion that we will never get the whole story as probably many of the people involved may have died themselves or have no memory left.”
One small piece of good news in the wake of this tragedy: Marilyn’s sister reported that her son Jason “has managed to overcome all and leaves a happy and successful life.”
I think the sister's information puts an entirely new perspective on this case. What do you think happened to Julie and Marilyn?

My Fallout New Vegas real-life locations tour (link to album inside)

Hey,

per kinda popular demand from this post:
https://www.reddit.com/Fallout/comments/bjosby/went_to_goodsprings_today/emal0a9?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

here's my Fallout New Vegas Tour I did last year. Fallout has always been close to my heart. Played all of the old school ones when I was younger, including less favourable Tactics. Then, as an entry job to gamedev, I was testing Fallout 3 and later on translating parts of Fallout New Vegas to Polish. This trip was long time dream for me and I tried to squeeze in as much as possible with keeping my gf happy = visiting other (non-Fallout related) landmarks around CA, NV, UT and AZ.

I'll be using Fallout Wikia to refer to in-game locations. When needed, I'll add some comments and overall impressions. At the end, I'm gonna link entire album with additional photos from the surroundings to give you the feel of the California and Nevada setting. I was surprised how close the atmosphere was in the game to actual locations with some of them giving a huge post-apo feeling the moment you've arrived.

Below are pictures without any particular order. Also, I did not try to take pictures at certain angles to have a picture for picture comparison with the game. I assume most of you will be able to associate the real life location with in-game location. Some won't be showing any particular landmarks but for me, they were in line with FNV overall atmosphere.

Let's start from the roads. My visit took place in June so I was expecting high temperatures but not scorching heat. Temperature indicator in the car very often showed over 45 Celsius degrees with the highest reaching 48.

Some roads, especially in Nevada, looked like this - https://imgur.com/jEq2m7H and https://imgur.com/xAqgMVV.

This is Badwater Basin which showed us from the get go that it's gonna be hot and not a lot of water around - https://imgur.com/hmLIxeq, https://imgur.com/AoR0d4e and https://imgur.com/O9qyQDF. Funny thing is, some places we were getting into (parks, canyons), rangers were controlling us in terms of water - 1 galon per 2 people on a daily basis.

Even though there's no Badwater Basin in FNV, for me it was giving me the vibe of in-game Ivanpah Dry Lake - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Ivanpah_Dry_Lake or El Dorado Dry Lake - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/El_Dorado_Dry_Lake.

This is Bonnie Springs where we've spent the night. Actual name is Bonnie Springs Ranch and it is ranch, restaurant and probably was much more back in the day.
https://imgur.com/urRj4CH, https://imgur.com/aXcw19T, https://imgur.com/f4sMZhM, https://imgur.com/dDc7YGu

In-game Bonnie Springs is here - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Bonnie_Springs

Next is Hoover Dam - and let me tell you, as in the game - it's huge. And, since there's little to no shade, it's a pain in the ass to walk around it. Also, it's filled with people all the time. A few pictures from the Dam - https://imgur.com/kz9jR0u, https://imgur.com/EdQpUcA, https://imgur.com/j1uFFep, https://imgur.com/ELAFZkl, https://imgur.com/43m0sUn, https://imgur.com/GMkxkpa.

Hoover Dam in the game - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Hoover_Dam

Next, it's the game beginning - Goodsprings and let me tell you, it was fun to see this sight, I immediately got my bearing ;) - https://imgur.com/bnCZE3M

A few more from Goodsprings (it's a relatively small town, not a lot of things going on). - https://imgur.com/y1VTpye, https://imgur.com/629Px07 - no radroaches, https://imgur.com/qDdec8M, https://imgur.com/1OUfRpX, https://imgur.com/XrOnbHI, https://imgur.com/Lr7ki2C, https://imgur.com/hkIhHGU, https://imgur.com/Up3UgcF, https://imgur.com/Y2F3yB4, https://imgur.com/lcSyviu.

The Pioneer Saloon serves a neat burger too - https://imgur.com/R0oG6cJ

In-game Goodsprings - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Goodsprings

Next is Nipton - almost a ghost town, we didn't see any people apart from the girl at the store. But it also had a lot of post-apo vibe with abandoned scenes. Pics of Nipton - https://imgur.com/113Q7W4, https://imgur.com/wO93oBd, https://imgur.com/rbkH57b, https://imgur.com/GSACJlw, https://imgur.com/bCQoW94, https://imgur.com/N0zhsAF, https://imgur.com/7KQGM2e. No Nuka Cola in any of those :( - https://imgur.com/Zd9yuu8, https://imgur.com/eoZKa3K.

The moment I saw the car I was grinning like a kid. Didn't have anything to blow it up with though.
https://imgur.com/T7pmvaU, https://imgur.com/cwuLKkz

More Nipton - https://imgur.com/aa9paHo, https://imgur.com/eKZD0Gw, https://imgur.com/5IJwnjM, https://imgur.com/oHal35d, https://imgur.com/Md9HxyU

In-game Nipton - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Nipton

Next is Primm which is a larger town, not a lot of locations that resemble post-apo vibe but hell, we had to spend a night here, at Bison Steve Hotel! I mean, Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino - https://imgur.com/TzUjWnK

It is incredibly similar to the Bison Steve Hotel, with logos, roller coaster and building facade.

Few more pics from outside and inside, yes, there's a casino town inside the hotel.

https://imgur.com/gcNprtE, https://imgur.com/KNeUMWx, https://imgur.com/TmFwF9R, https://imgur.com/jcX8DzY, https://imgur.com/gFux7Xd, https://imgur.com/cmI0Piw

Being close to Bison Steve Hotel, we went to Whiskey Pete's (https://imgur.com/QiDyY3F) which in game was called Vikki and Vance Casino. Casino itself is nothing spectacular but of course they had on the display this - https://imgur.com/pJxCJ0u which is in the game and in fact is a card that Bonnie and Clyde drove in. https://imgur.com/o00vobu and https://imgur.com/z46CE10

In-game Bison Steve Hotel - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Bison_Steve_Hotel

Next is HELIOS One (real-life name is Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System). Of course we couldn't get close to it, security reasons, however, you can see it from afar. Few pics with glaring from the mirrors.

https://imgur.com/W6iNSrJ and https://imgur.com/8kiP9HP

In-game HELIOS One - https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/HELIOS_One

Last location that is easily associated with FNV is of course Dinky the T-REX that is actually a roadside dinosaur attraction called Cabazon Dinosaurs.

https://imgur.com/V206PWu and https://imgur.com/9fsxD7F and also, no Boone or Manny there.

As I've mentioned, there are more pictures in the album - https://imgur.com/a/V67NnQj - those show overall post-apo vibe, landscapes and flora of the region. Those places are Cima ghost town, Joshua Tree Park, Bryce Canyon, Roy's Cafe, random ghost towns on the way.

Should you have any questions, I'm happy to answer those - might take some time though, depending on the time zone.

I hope you liked it and I hope I encouraged some of you to go and visit some time - totally worth it!

Tahoe Summer 2018 Event Calendar

A lot is going on in Tahoe during the summer, so here’s a continuously updated listing of events happening around the lake! Feel free to comment below with any updates, I will periodically edit the post with new events that folks send me. See revision notes at the bottom of this post.
Things not included: shows that happen every week all year around (like the Improv at Harvey’s or the Magic Fusion at The Loft), free weekly shows at venues like the CBC and Alibi Truckee (check their event calendars for those!), and children’s camps/classes. I reserve the right to not include every event folks send; a truly comprehensive list would quickly become useless with too many items on it, so I will be a little selective.

Names of your Hunting Bows?! Let's hear 'em!

I have 2 Mathews compounds set up exactly the same. They are, "Heartstriker; Maul of the Selkirks" and "Buckbane;the bastard son of exalted heroism". My Wes Wallace recurve is named "El Dorado" after the Shreveport LA El Dorado Casino and Resort which is where I won the money to buy it. What do you call your bow???
